I had a capacitor leaking on my 91 TT, so I started looking for a replacement ecm, (MD159966). After much searching for both used and rebuilt, and finding prices as high as $599 for it, (usually around $350), I came across O'Reilly's Auto Parts where I bought a Cardone rebuilt one with a limited lifetime guarantee for $249. Knowing this is a pretty common occurance with the 1G, just thought I'd throw it out there in case someone else encounters the same problem.
