I have a 05 Endeavor FWD 80000mi, Excellent condition, Recently noticed a clunking noise coming from the rear end, mostly passenger side around the wheel well, Only when going slow, Backing out of the driveway etc... I changed the sway bar links which needed changing, Helped a little but still have the clunking noise. Strange thing I noticed was when it was really rainy & wet the noise seemed to go away ????? Maybe just me ?? Ive gotten underneath and everything seems tight, but im not a mechanic. Maybe the upper strut bushing ? I could really use some help on this. Also, How do I access the upper end of the strut to check it.

Thanks, I will recheck that, i had both rear wheels off to check if I might have a loose caliper & the bearings seemed OK, But I Will recheck them as its not what I was looking for at the time.

There doesn't have to be play in it for it to be bad. You should hear it when you rotate the wheel off the ground. All it takes is one bearing out of round.
