Default Fluid needed after CV Axle replacement -- 2005 ES 2.0L AT FWD

Hi,

I've been looking for this info as I have seen conflicting information out there and from the dealer.

I replaced the passenger side (right side) front CV Axle and as expected when pulling it out from the transaxle case it leaked fluid.

According to some folks online, this is transmission fluid.
According to the dealer when I went and asked for AT fluid, it is in fact "LSD Gear Oil". That only if is the left (driver) side Axle you would need transmission fluid as the right side is "hooked" into the LSD transfer case.

Looking for experts here with 2005 cars that can share with me if in fact the ES version has Limited Slip Differential or not.. if the dealer thought wrong that i had an EVO (even when i said ES, not all wheel drive, etc).

Help?
thanks.

Hi mxmikie,

I dont think I have ever heard/seen the FWD being used as "four" instead of "forward".
My car is a Forward Wheel Drive, it is not an All Wheel Drive as I mentioned in the body of the post.

Thanks.
