I want to lower my car, but I can't decided how I should go about it. I've been talking to my buddy and he says I should just go straight springs. This is because coil overs need to be adjusted for a while until they're right, have a lot more bouncy ride, and can wear out easier, I guess. But my question is this: since I live in Wisconsin, should I use coil overs so that I can raise my car up a little when its winter, or should I just get set springs? What are the pros and cons of each? This is the first time for modifying the suspension on any car so I want to make sure I do it right. Any tips would be very helpful. Thanks!

 

Coilovers are bouncy if you get the wrong set. You can get a default set for you car with adjustable shocks and you can't go wrong. I've got a SkunkII coilovers and KYB AGXs and I don't have issues with them at all.
Don't get check ebay coilovers or you will bounce all over the place since they are never made to support a good amount of weight in each corner. Also know that every time you adjust the height, you will have to get an alignment each time or your wheels will point every way but straight.
I also suggest that you get springs because all you have to do is state your car and put them on. No height adjustments needed. Just don't "DROP" your car so low that you have issues driving on potholed roads, speed bumps, or any other road conditions.
