Default SRS Light Stays On

Just wondering if anyone knows of a specific component or condition of the Supplemental Restraint System that will mostly likely cause this problem on an '02 Lancer. From what I've read, my only option is to take it to the dealer to have the codes read/reset. Any ideas? Thanks.

Received a quote from the dealership today...they said $70 to diagnose the problem. I guess I'll be taking it in to see what they find.

I called another place that said they will do the diagnostics for $60. The mechanic there told me that if the horn or any other buttons on the steering wheel are not working then it's probably a bad clock spring in the steering column. The clock spring allows power to run to the components in the steering wheel, including the air bag. So far I've only checked the horn, and it works.

why dont you just take it somewhere credible, like the dealer and get it diagnosed?? it could be anything from the clock spring, air bag, control unit ect, ect... you wont know till you take it somewhere. then you will know and wont have to speculate!!! jeezz!!
