I have the SRS light stays on in the car. When I took it to the mechanics he said he couldnt find a code for it. What and Why is this light on. Im not real familiar with these cars.

 

its a 98 3000 GT base model

 

it's the sensor for the airbags. If your battery was disconnected for a long time, sometimes that throws the code/light, just from being old, etc. The airbags will still work, and anyone with a snap-on scanner or the mitsubishi dealership should be able to clear the code for you.

 

I just replaced the battery not too long ago. Do you think the old battery set it off?
