Clutch
Take it from my experience, steel wool will not work well. Go to NAPA, get some wet/dry 220 grit, follwed by a final polishing with 400 grit. use a 2X4 block to keep things good & flat, and take your time. IF it is not warped or gouged too bad, you should have the flywheel in good shape in about 45min - 1 hr. and I do not remember the brand, but the clutch I bought for my 1981 Dodge D-150 was from Auto-Zone. It was the cheapest they had, and it worked just fine!!Is your car turbo'd? The reason I ask is because puting a high preformance clutch in a low preformance car (non turbo) is not going to really benifit you much anyway. So save the $$$$ and just get a standard replacement clutch. By the time it has wore out, you might be driving a 3000GT twin turbo by then!

in response to Jason, yes i am doin the work myself, and i have not changed a clutch before but i have removed all of the clutch flywheel ect. when i changed the rear main seal, so there cant be much more to it.. my step dad is gonna scrub down the flywheel with steel wool.
Sebba, i dont hate rich people, i hate rich people that dont understand what it is like to be poor. And thank you for actually telling me a brand name, i will take that into consideration, but i definately cannot get a ACT this time, i know i should but i just cant afford it. I will save up my money for when this crap one goes out and by then i will be in college and working, hopfully i will afford it then.

nah my car is the little 1.8 na.. and thanks man, i will definatley take your advise and get some sanding paper. really the only reason anything should be wrong with my flywheel is if it got torn up from the bad clutch, other than that it might just have a slick layer on it from worn clutch pads running on it.. im hoping it is fine. The cheapest clutch for my car is 77bux, then the other one i can afford is 98. i am not sure which one im getting as of right now, i get a 20% discount though
