timing belt help
ok well i jsut found out it wont start because of the timing belt, the shop keeps putting it back together, and it works, just for a little while, then it stops running. well they put in a new belt, new tensioner, and they keep telling me it keeps jumping. why does it keep coming loose?
someone is not doing their job right. They must just not be tightening the tensioner or something. There is no reason for this. How are the teeth on the belt. Have they been wore or something that makes them slip maybe.

thats f'd up. The only thing that would cuz it to slip as i understand it is the tensioner. So if that is new also, then i can only think they are doin something

They may not be setting the tension properly- the timing belt is pretensioned by an offset pulley with the use of a special tool- the pretension is then maintained by a hydraulic tensioner. If the pretension is not set properly- the hydraulic tensioner may not be able to hold tension. Take is to someone more capable before they destroy your engine.
