1995 Eclipse GS-T Rough idle and bogs in gears.
I have a 1995 Eclipse GS-T and just today it started bogging in gears. When you idle at a stop light it will jump from 1/2 grand to 3 grand and 1 grand to 2 grand and so forth. When your driving, it will bog back and forward like your not giving it any gas, but you can be flooring it. Any ideas???

IAC motor sounds like. Idle Air Control Motor. It's a common problem in MANY cars. Though I don't think it's all that expensive a part. I'd have to check to get an approximate price.

Oh I dunno what cars call it what. At the shop we all just refer to it as the Idle Air Control Motor. IAC for short. I'm guessing it's the same thing you're refering to firedoc.

How can i tell if thats the part. Its pretty expensive 300 from mits and about 100 on ebay rebuilt. Is there any sure way i could tell. I don't know if this helps but since the problem has occured my AC no longer blows cold air. It use to be ice cold now its just the temperature of the engine.

Well the only way to tell for sure is to have it tested at a shop. The AC is another unrelated problem altogether. Completely different system that doesn't have any tie in to the IAC motor at all escept the fact that they're both run off the engine.

While checking my AC unit i seen a bolt was popping out like it looked like it was ready to just fall out. It was dark so i didn't have time to mess with it i'll be looking at it tomorrow morning. Anything i should check considering this?? Since my AC no longer is blowing cold.

Well I'd guess that it's probably the compressor tensioner that fell out or the hingepin for the compressor. If that's not int place the belt won't be tight and the compressor won't be spinning. If it's NOT one of those 2 then it's something that is probably allowing your R-134a or R-12 out of the system.
