My dad has a 95 gsx standard. When the engine gets hot the idle shoots up to anywhere between 2k and 3.5k rpm. Average is 280rpm. But today it got to almost 4k!!!!!! We put a new IAC motor on it and took the throttle body off and cleaned it. WTF is going on?

 

is there an icv on these cars?

 

just tune the idle down manually..thats what i had to do with my spyder......

 

cleaned it with what? it sounds like something it not on tight like a VAC\boost leak does the idle flutter up and down and not stay steady?

Also adjust the BISS screw if you have to that is on the throttle body it is to adjust the idle RPMs

 

gum out throttle body cleaner. It just stays steady at 3500 or w/e

 

if its not fluttering then its got to the the idle set screw (BISS). It is located on the left end of your intake manifold.

 

it seems to be heat related, The hotter the engine is the higher the rps get. Today it got to 3800

 

New record today............. 4500rpm!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!! WTF????
