6 bolt vs 7 bolt?

well if you know enough that there are two different ones i figured youd know the difference but whatever. The reason for the names is the # of bolts on the flywheel cuz thats one of the only ways to tell them apart. But the real difference is in the oil feed and the squirters. The 6 bolts have larger openings in the squirters and the 7 bolts take oil from if i remember the bottom of the pan which gets dirtier oil. so it ends up clogging the squirters and creates a oil pressure issue. Also the 7 bolt had weaker bearing. But im not gonna go any further. If you want more info then go to magnus motorsports and look at their write-up on crankwalk

6 bolts were in most* of the 1st gen Eclipses/Talons/Lasers, the 7 bolts were in some 1st gens, and all 2g turbos.
6 bolt motors are a little more reliable.
