7 bolt head on a six bolt block
okay this is the first step i am taking to turn my spyder into a one of a kind.i was able to pick up a six bolt engine for a reasonable amount but the head is wasted so i will be using my seven bolt head on a six bolt lower end i know that there is going to be some modification involved. i was searching around and was wondering if i can use most if not all the accessories like timing belt and tensioner because i have a lot of newer parts on the seven bolt block no i know that this is not an exactly easy swap i was looking for those who may have done this swap and any tid bits of info on this swap i was looking at vfaq.com and the information doesn't include all needed parts while i am doing this conversion i also have all the parts i need to do a all wheel drive conversion but first lets get the motor done
4:30 after going to aquire the tools needed to remove the top end off of the 6 bolt bottom end i have noticed that the valve impact was far worse than expected in the marks in the piston heads is quite bad while the pistons move very smoothly in the block i'm left wondering
if it may be wiser to use the pistons out of the seven bolt if possible. all parts otherwise still look good, except the water pump which is locked up and will need replaced.
