96 Eclipse Rust Problem
I baught a 96 eclipse yesterday for a pretty good deal, its got strong motor and trans, but its the body im worried about. As you can see in the pictures the rear driverside wheelwell is shot, and it looks like im rusting into the unibody, right now im stuck with either trying to fix this, or buying a 96 eclipse shell and swappin the motor and trans. Before I do that, I just wanna know.. Does this even look fixable?

yes, however, unless you have a frame rack or know someone who can do it for you cheap i'd swap the vrooom vrooom go bits into another 95 to 99 shell. you might run across a shell that has outter panel or seam rust that can be fixed pretty easy just fyi.
to have that fixed correctly it will need to be sectioned or ground and plates (new metal) welded in place either way you go a bit of work; i can't say anything more unless i'd see the rest of the car.

I looked for a while for a shell, but living up here in NW indiana, rust is a huge issue out here. So every shell I ran by, had a rust issue in that area, or up around the shocks in the front under the hood. So i just sold it and got my money back out of it. I hated to sell it, it was fun, but since it was only a RS, and it had the 420a engine in it, i didnt really find it worth it to go through all that trouble. I plan soon to buy a GS-T, cant wait.
