First, I love this forum, been reading up on all subjects that I can so far these past few months, and the people here seem great.

Hypothetically, if any of you guys were to convert your 2G GS automatic into a manual, would there be any specific junk donar cars to look out for, for parts that would help in the conversion. This is strictly for project, and I just wanna see if it would be fun, or could be done.

Any opinions welcomed. And I'm glad I finally had something to post!

 

The cost required to convert the car to a stick would be more than the car is wroth, to the point where you could probably buy 2 more GS Eclipses.

Is there any reason you are attached to this car?

 

yeah. It's sorta my first car.


Really eh? even finding a cheap donar car for most of the parts, it still would cost way to much the effort huh?


....... we'll see for now I guess, since for now' Im still in the "what kinda project should I turn this car into", if you know what i mean. So I'm still gathering information on different set ups.

 

Well the parts from a parts car would be next to nothing, its the work and fabrication required that costs.

If you want my advice, I say geta GSX. Comes turbo from factory, all wheel drive, and loads of potential. The GS is pretty much hopeless when it comes to making power.

 

Its possible but will be very time consuming, try checking out any local junk yards for parts.

 

yeah gsx ftw. but if you really want to keep the gs just expect to spend a lot of time swapping it out. good luck with it.
