clutch slipping???

RE: clutch slipping???
Adjust your clutch pedal first. It just sounds like the driver at the shop burned up a little bit of the organic clutch...not burned it off. I had the same issue when I got my car to Hawaii...the shippers must of had a hard time getting it onto the truck-ship and back off again. It was a matter of adjusting the clutch pedal.
BTW, my clutch was slipping all the time because of the fact of the shippers riding the clutch, just as the driver did with your clutch.
Unless the guy was a complete idiot to driving a standard and/or your clutch is really old and needs to be changed, I just can't imagine you needing a new clutch because of a few minutes of driving it around on the clutch.
Start simple and free and adjust your clutch....if that doesn't work, you didn't lose a thing but the time put into adjusting the master rod and a few scratches on your hand(s)....as opposed to having to buy a new clutch and the labor to put it in. Find a garage and get to work.....just trying to save you some money bud...

but if you do plan on going to them asking them to pay for it or at least part of it... don't take your time these things are very time sensative, you wait a week and then go to them? they have a completely legit excuse... so if you are going to do it, do it soon. like tomorrow!

RE: clutch slipping???
got a buddy that used to run a clutch masters stage 3 clutch in his stage 3 cobalt SS and hated it, upgraded to an Exedy twin disk clutch and lightweight flywheel and LOVES it, he beats the hell out of that car, has had it in for probably close to 10kmiles and still holdin up like a champ.
