GSX to VR-4 Trans Swap
ORIGINAL: confoundedfool
The VR-4 that had the 6 speed was from years 97-99 and it had the twin turbo V6, i dont recal mitsubishi ever making a 4cyl for the 3000GT or one for the stealth for that matter.

Yeah see, thats what I'm saying, a 6 speed would eb bad *** and a lot of fun, since there arent that many around. Plus having that extra gear would make cruising sweet. I don't know much about trannys, but Im really hoping somebody in here would be able to help me out, i still dont see why an AWD 6cyl wont hook up to a AWD 4cyl, dont they all mount the same?

guys why is it that everyone wants a 6spd?? have any of you driven one? they SUCK especially mitsus 6 spds. The Evo 6 spd requires you to shift like 4 times getting up to like 70 the gears are so short it is retarded. The 3000GT is hard to shift and get in gear and they are very awkward. not to mention in a race chances are a 5spd will be better off for you. look at all of the worlds fastest cars they are 5spds or autos. the Supra is the only 6spd that I have even seen to be good all around. Oh and they dont get you better gasmilage and a lower RPM in top gear on the highway all the time either(some do like GM cars vettes camaros firebirds). the Evo MR (6spd) at 70MPG is only 100RPMs less than a 5spd.
