Default head being rebuilt.....

Im getting the head on my 95 TSi rebuilt. As long as its off, i may as well throw a few mods in there. What are the best mods to go in a head? How much hp/tq gain do i get from them?

not really any mods you can do otherthan porting and cams. id say dont worry about the porting though, its not really gonna make much of a difference for your power level and you may lose some low end power. you could get some cams but i dont think you are ready for that either.

Unless you're going to go with a turbo and build up from there I wouldn't really worry about doing much more to the ead. Cams are porting is great and also possibly bigger valves but there's no point to it unless you're going to beef the lower end and get a good size turbo in there. I'd say look at other bolt on mods unles you plan on doin a full engine job.

make sure you put a new tensioner pulley on there because i have a 93 gsx and i had my head rebuilt and i didnt put a tensioner pulley on it and the head went again after 80 miles. so $700 down the drain! so i went and bought a whole new head.

Also get it decked. Like dsmtalon said, if your going with the stock turbo or something like a s16g I wouldnt do anything. The money can be spent better in other places.

why not? he has a TSI which will be easy to mod for more HP. might as well do it now since he seems to be rebuilding the engine. even if its stock now, i don't think hes rebuilding the heads if he plans on leaving it stock
