Ok- so the General consensus here is that non turbo eclipse are decent reliable, comfy cars with OK gas mileage, that won't leave me stranded broken somewhere right? im sorry for post whoring- i need to make a decision fast as I need a car Asap! And if you guys say they are decent cars- then lil get it checked out by a mechanic and buy it.

holy ****....ya dont put a wing or a muffler...they call it a muffler for a reason, its not a louder its a MUFFler. anyways, i have always liked mitsu' and hondas, i have both...me personally? i drive a 2006 eclipse GT, im saying go and buy one but if you have the money sure. its no evo, but hell that torque band will get your *** in the back of your seat...ive never been too fond of the 3rd gen, if you are go 2nd or maybe 4th if you have the money...dont expect too much mileage out of the GT though as with your jetta, i get 18/27 [>:]

I have a 99 eclipse and I had a 96 eclipse. Both have over 100k Miles on them if you just take care of it. Oil, spark plugs timing belt ect it can go for a long time. As for year. Consumer reports said the worst year eclipse is the 1997. It seemed to have the most problems

Hehehe- l8te welcome. Listen im no ricer- i live in a very race oriented family- we had a stock car putting out 600 ponys, and my jetta also has some mods on it- stock it made 115- after some moding i have it hitting 123 WHP- still slow- but it was work. we have a fiero thats race tuned too and i wanted a mitsu because we hit some hard times, bankrupt etc. so i just want a reliable car that won't make me cry.
