if you have a stock block, get a 6 bolt and rebuild that. block=300ish bucks, rebuild stuff(just for block)=400ish bucks

 

and getting the block machined will cost about 100 bucks

 

agreed... if you are going to rebuild a 2g bottom end... invest in the 6 bolt... if not you will always be driving around and every sound you hear will be the sound of possible destruction called crankwalk. you can pick up a block feom 200 -1200 (built) but if you buy it bare, hot tank it - 50 bucks, bored cylinders - 75 bucks, pistons - apx 350, rods - apx 300, main and rod bearings - 80 for both. if you have a crank... its only about 100 to have it knife edged (depending on how serious you are about your car) and while your at it, go for a cometic head gasket to ensure you'll never blow it!
