is it a good idea to remove the stock side mount intercooler shroud on my 97 gst??? The reason i ask is because i believe i read it on someones thread and someone said to remove it. It looks like it would benifit the intercooler because it directs the air into it.

yea on the 97-99 models it has a plastic shroud that comes from the front bumper hole back to the side mount intercooler. I guess its supposed to direct air to the intercooler.

why is it a bad design? like he said, it directs air at the intercooler right?

 

sorry nevermind, i thought you were talking about those black pieces that BLOCK the sidemount completely. i know the 97-99's come with a piece that completely block airflow and you have to pop em out to expose the ic to fresh air
