Just got a radio installed!
Went to bestbuy today and found the DEH-P5900Ib on sale for 180.00. Thought it was a decent deal. I was gonna install it but decided not too since installtion was free, all i had to pay for was the harness and a few other things equalling up to $45.00. Question though, when I drove it home, i noticed a cable under the seat detached. I plug it back in and supposely its for the seat belt signal. Was it necessary to unplug that for the radio? The seatbelt light only blinks when i first turn on the car but stays off even when my seatbelt isn't on. Just thought it was a little weird, that it was unplugged. But this new radio is kick *** compared to my old one. I had the mits stock cd player(not infiniti) and i forgot to get the cd out, any way to do it without plugging it back in.

If it's a single wire, then yes, that is for the seatbelt and no, it doesn't hurt anything. He may removed it to keep it from chiming while he was checking the radio or setting it up and just forgot to reinstall it.
The empty "bay" is nothing. I have an empty bay also. Just make sure he didn't steal you air duct under there, lol....kidding bud.

lol just making sure, $45 seemed a bit cheap just for parts. Passed by circuitcity before and they wanted $120 for parts and labor. If i wanted my stock radio back in, would it neeed some kind of service code?

Just your security code, which is usually found in or around or your owner's manual or service manual.
