then i dont know, because when i had a knock, it was at all rps and it was pretty loud.

 

ohhh it's a loud knock but sometimes when it's at idle the knock will go away for a few revolutions then it's back. That's why I thought it might of been the cam slapping the rockers due to bad lifters. I just got done rebuilding a 1990 240sx 2.4L, stock no mods which purrs like a kitten, so I'll have time to jump back on the eclipse

 

how is your oil pressure?

 

oil pressure is good, oil is squirting out the relief holes for the lifters at the end above #1 cyl. I just remembered one time when i was listening to the motor I revved the motor a couple of times and then it wouldn't idle. I turned it off and let it set for a few minutes then started it back up and it idled fine again. Last thing I can do is pull the head and oil pan and take a look.

 

have you checked the bearing tolerance?
