Default long starts??

hey guys me again
ok here is whats happening 99 rs

for 2 continuos days now its been taking about 5 seconds to start my car. i can constantly count to 5 and it will start the same every time. i am hearing from friends that it could be the starter giving out the wrong signals, or something about a O ring from my fuel line thats supposed to hold the fuel up for the next start. is there any way i can figure it out without taking the starter/fuel line apart and checking them? thanks for your help in advanced.

by the way i have new plugs/wires and distributer. new battery. thanks

When you turn the key, the fuel pump should prime for about 3 full seconds, and shut off. You should be able to hear it, like a loud humming.

If the fuel pump primes, you could check the fuel pressure regulator, it might be bad.

The fuel pump itself might be on its way out and just being weak.

Is this a new thing or has it been like that always?

The only way to check for a bad fuel pumpis checking fuel pressure.
