Looking at a 2G Spyder
Ok I am thinking about jumping into a 1997 Spyder. Seems like the most affordable sports car you can buy right now so anything I should look at when going over the vehicle?
I made a posting on the New Members area and figured for reliability and more economical maintenance and repairs the 2G GS was what I will be getting. I have read about rust and being on the westcoast it is a issue so where are the common areas to look for it?
Thanks

one major problem with the spyders is that the roof will leak. Look for any signs that water has been getting into the interior. Rust spots to look for is around the engine bay side and then under the car for the frame. If there are holes in it anywhere you will end up with major problems
John why would you say the roof WILL leak? My spyders dont leak, and never have. They will leak if the weather striping has not ever been treated and kept moist. cause then they break down and rot
