Default loss of power... please help

need help diaognosing my problem... well first off it started sunday afternoon. i was driving along and went to down shift and found that i have a considerable loss in power. it also smelt like raw gas while i was in od but only when it was bweing lugged. so yesterday i checked the spark plugs those are all in decent shape as i replaced them less than 9k ago, they are densos, next i checked the compression it was an even 170 across all 4, then i disconeected the plug wires and tested them they were all less than the 50k ohms relace limit, i too had changed those les than 9k ago. i havent checked my fuel pressure. could that be a main cause. it still runs fine just a lack of hp from 3,000 rpm up.

thanks for your help

When was the last time the fuel filter was changed?
It might be stopped up causing a drop in fuel pressure.

The gas smell, do you smell it through the exhaust or from the engine bay? If it's from the exhaust, I'm going to say that the spark plugs aren't lighting up the mix as well as it should. What type of Denso's are these? Perhaps the wires have started to break down. Check the wire boots for arcing also.

Was your car doing this before you changed out all that stuff?
