Is my boost gauge set properly

Is my boost gauge set properly
Ok, so my boost gauge is t-off at my manifold. With my MBC open, I am getting readings of like 5-6psi, but I was told stock was like 7 or 8. Is it possible that the pressure is off becoz of where it's t-off?

You have a MBC? if that is correct then you cant run stock boost since the MBC overrides it

edit i ment it will not let boost hit the wastegate intil mbc spring is opened.

But I can go less than stock?

is this boost gauge in metric or what and is it digital? my point being... how easy it is to say it reads 5 I cant tell exactly what hash line its pointing at , you know what I mean. He is running off the spring obviously and only reading like 1 PSI less than its supposed to lets think why that may be? Personal eyes not seeing it because it can be tough to count harshlines, a kinked VAC line running to the gauge, the distance of the line to the gauge and where it is "T" off. I think it is obvious there is no problem other than his boost controller is all the way out

I agree with emonz. When its all the way open all its doing is running off the wastegate. So its fine. Are you able to turn the boost up is the question...oh and the reason that a car stock usually will run around 8psi is because of the stock BCS that it has.

RE: Is my boost gauge set properly
Ok, well it is running on the middle line. Is this correct?
I kept the MBC open so I could simply run stock boost which from talking with Engineer should not go lower than 8psi.
I adjusted some hoses and hose clamps, disconnected my battery and fixed my BOV return hose. It looks like I am running around 8psi now.
Emonz you are correct, my gauge is not digital so I am forced to read the hash marks. It is tough, but it looks about right now.
I will give it another run to see if I maintain stock level boost then see if I can get any increase from my MBC.
Thanks all
