Need Idle Help

Ok on any given day, on the first start of the day or if its sit for a little while..Exspecially in cold..But it will not stay running on the first start exspecially in cold..But once it does warm up it idles from around 300 to 1000 rpm...please help

is it a constant fluctuation. like it just goes up and down. Or is it every now and then it lowers and almost dies. Do you have any check engine light

its constant..well when i bought the car..it would idle fine after it warmed up, but if it wasn't warmed up it would die, but wouldn't idle up and down..just die...but i was in the dirve threw one day..and the engine light came on the same time the battery light did and thats when it started idle up and down, and every once in a while it will cut out..both lights go off and about 4 seconds later both come one..with the engine light first then the battery

hmm. Well id go to autozone and see if there are any engine codes in there. They will check them for you. Also have them check the battery. And you might want to check the battery connections for a bad one or alot of corrosion. (but thats more of just a simple thing, i doubt its the problem but might as well). My hunch is that you have a bad sensor.

Possibly an IAC, EGR,or PCV problem.

The Idle Air Control could be messing up when its cold.

well i did go to auto zone, but they said the latest model they could go was 97 to check codes, and i have a idle sensor to put on it..but what gets me is the battery light comes on right after the engine light...but when the car cuts out the both go off, then about 4 seconds later the engine will come on then about 2 seconds after that the battery will

well thats a lie because i had a 95 and it had the obdII port for them. Go under your steering wheel and see if there is a port there for them to connect too.
