well if I have to rebuild the motor then I figure why not just go with the stroker?

Actually, the higher rev limit of the 2.0L is better than the spool time of the 2.3L stroker.

Can't the stroker still rev to 7k?

Yes it can, but the 2.0L with a built head and a little mass removed from the crank can rev to 10k.

Thats why John Shep runs the 2.0L and not the 2.3L
