Hey there, I am new to Mitsubishi... I just picked up a 99 Spyder GST and am trying to find some aftermarket parts for it now... I want to start with Projectors and altezza's, but everything I find on ebay says its just for the regular eclipse. I have emailed a ton of these and they say they wont fit the spyder. Is the externals not the same on both, or are my eyes playing tricks on me? I thought the only difference was the convertable and the 2.0 Turbo... PLease help me understand.

 

You shouldnt have any problem... Ive had a 99 GS and now I have a 98 GST Spyder.. And what I've seen I don't think there is any difference on the headlights... The only thing that may be different is the space you have to put them in, but you should be able to get them in with no prob... You should ask the ebayer, if there is anything special with the headlights that makes them not fit a spyder.. But I doubt there is any...

Im new to the Eclipse also and I have been finding the same problems. I could understand room problems back by the trunk for maybe tower bars. But I dont see why headlights would be different. I think maybe they forget the spyder when they list if its for a gs, gst, gsx or whatever.

 

I think e-bay sellers don't know poop about the parts they're selling (Unless you get one being sold by a private owner). They have WAY too many parts to actually know which ones are compatible between which vehicles. They don't have a passion for any one type of car usually and are merely looking to make the $. The Spyder and regular eclipse head and taillights should be interchangeable.

 

I have a 99 spyder gd. i got the black angel eye projectors on there. they should be fine. the thing i have been noticing with ebay and cars around here is that you can get clear altezza's but as for me who wants the carbon fiber ones, they wont fit. it makes no sense to me. the one kid i know in the car club down here as the clear ones. so i know for a FACT the projector will fit jus fine and look great (the angel eye burnt out in one of mine fast for some reason) otherwise ur good to go

 

so are you selling carbon fiber rear lights or head lights?
