Quick questions???
Hey guys. I have two quick stupid questions.
1. Is it hard to install a fuel pump? I am going to be purchasing a 190 fuel pump soon?
2. What oil should I use for my car? What kind and type do you guys use?

RE: Quick questions???
ZX1 if you can get your hands on it (oil)
it was named best in the world and all racing cars use it.
The fuel pump is a tank feed... i guess if you can get under it and inside the tank you can do it.

RE: Quick questions???
1. Depends on the car, 1g's are a pain in tha ***** becuase its mounted on the out side of the car and most of the time everything is rusted. 2G's is a cake walk. And I have never done a 3g car but I assume its the same as the 2g.
2. Just use mobil 1 syntech.

RE: Quick questions???
Is that Mobil 1 Synthetic: 10-30W, 15-40W...etc? What type is it? A guy at the garage told me that i should use 15-40 (I think)
So I guess its easy to install a fuel pump on a 2G because thats what I have.

For the fuel pump, remove the back seat. Their will be two gray square plates. One is the fuel tank sender and the other is the fuel pump. If i am not mistaken the one closest to the drivers side of the car is the fuel pump. Remove the 4 screws to lift the cap. Turn the car on, dissconnect the relay and let the car stall. That will take the pressure out of the fuel lines. AFter that disconnect the fuel lines, be carefull and use some penetrating oil, the brass arms that hand off the top of the pump are easy to break and if you do happen to snap on off you have to buy a new one. Then undo all of the screws that hold the circle asyembly to the top of the tank. Its going to be hard to get off at first, get it a little love tap to one side after all of the screws are out. Then pull from the top and the pump comes out. You may have to modify the bottom brass retainer arm to make the pump fit, or you may be able to use it. I know on my 225lph I had to modify it. IF thats the case just drill a new hole for the set screw and it will be fine. If you need a pic to see it better pm me. Anyway after that just do the same steps in reverse and you will be alright.
