I have a short shifter in my car, i always smash my fingers between the **** and console if im not payin attention.[:@]

 

i used to have the same problem. which brand do you have? when you put it into first is there any play in the **** towards and away from the consol? did you get the upgraded bushings?

 

Lol, sounds like you have a physically shorter shifter Racer. The B&M is a short "throw" shifter, lol.

 

no, i have a short "throw" shifter also and had the same problem, if you are in first and as close to nuetral as possible than it's fine but i had a lot of play in mine so i could move it another inch or so forward and would hit my knuckles on the radio. i spent 20bucks on the upgraded bushings from CIMotorsports.net and never had the problem again.

 

The problem was with the stock shifter.
I pulled it off and it was cracked and starting to seperate.
