Default Shifter movement

Just wondering how many 2g owners have or had the shifter movement problem in there car. With my previous tranny it was solid no movement and up and down shifting was fine. With the tranny now i have the symptom mentioned in the vfaq website. Just want to see if anybody had it and tried that fix and have it work.

assuming your tranny is in decent condition, get some BG synchroshift tranny fluid and some of these:

^ that and bearings on the shift linkages helped mine stay solid. Not to mention, there's a lot of play with the springs..the ones that help keep your shaft centered when in neutral.

After the B&M Short Through I put on mine, I have no problem with any shifter movement while in gear.
Solid as a rock.

Same here. I used to have a knock off short shifter, when i upgraded to B&M and the stainless steel bushings... that thing won't move if you want it to while in gear!

A friend suggested to get a short shifter also. But i really want to double check the two 36 mm nuts that hold the gears on the input shaft and make sure there tight. Because the sympton my shifter moving half an inch when i give gas and let off the gas seem like what the shifter movement fix on VFAQ.com is saying. If then no improvement then short shifter and see.
