does anybody know what the silent shaft does ?

 

it keeps the motor from shaking, mostly at idle.

 

Well my motor does shake at idle.. not violently but its not sitting still.. Would that likely point to the balance shaft. Any body have pics of a removed balance shaft and not removed. Just want to compare. ?

 

It could also mean that the motor mount(s) are worn out too. My balance shaft has been removed too. My motor doesn't "look" to be shaking until you put your hand on it, then you can tell that it is. My steering wheel also vibrates, but it not visible until I put your hand on it then it vibrates my hand, lol.
