Can anyone tell me whats the best way to make a 1994 base 3000 gt Silent ,..or the most quiet while driving? would it effect any little horsepower?

Thank you

Lets look at the reason why cars are loud. They are loud because of the exhaust right? So, the wider the exhaust ports, the louder the car. Thats why when you put a full exhaust with headers on the car... it instantly becomes super loud. So, what they did was they made the exhaust ports smaller... posing a small restriction in the exhaust system. That is what makes it lose power. You cant have both. Its one or the other.

On the VR4s it has an electrical switch that can make the ports bigger or smaller. Smaller being the quiet setting ofcourse... and the normal setting sounds pretty loud.

Hope this is what you are looking for

Active Exhaust is on the TT models. It is nothing more than a flapper near the stock muffler. At low RPM's, the flapper is open, allowing exhaust to flow through both exhaust tips, after 3500+- RPM's (or by pressing the switch in the cockpit) the flapper closes, directing the exhaust straight through the muffler on the driver's side. Most peoples active exhaust doesn't work, as it tends to rust in place. It is also deleted when an aftermarket cat-back is installed.

Edit: There is no difference in performance, it just sounds more aggressive.

Put the stock resonator back in, it will cure your drone and not affect performance.

Why y'all driving on the wrong side of the road...
