Default Spare tires different?

Are the spare tires different on different models? I was asked when looking for one that there was a 15" and a 16" spare tire and I have a GS-T with 16" rims. I am looking for parts, see the For Sale section on this board.

I know that you know that the overall diameter is what's important and not the rim size of the donut.
I believe the 98-99 (maybe the 97s too) had 17" rims stock. I believe they had the 16" donuts. That's what I had when I had a donut (I had 17" stock rims).
So, if you have 16" stock rims...I'll say that you "need" the 15" donuts. I say this because most donuts have A LOT of rubber on those steely rims.

Could be 17" stock, and I understand the overall diameter is more important than rim size, but, was there definately 2 different sizes? If you have a stock GS-T can someone tell me the size and info on the tire?
