Default Speed Sensor problem?

I have an eclipse 95 gs and everytime I drive it in rainy day, My speedometer wouldn't work. It will be when I'm driving on highway and doing 60mph and suddenly it drops to 0 and stays there but the car still running fine. And a few days after the rain stops and everything dry outside, my speedometer works again like before. This happened twice and I'm assuming that it is the speed sensor. Do you guys think it is the speed sensor? if it is, how do I change the speed sensor myself because a lot of people told me that I should just change it myself because it's easy. And also I need to know the location of the speed sensor? Thanks guys, I really appreciate for your help.

sounds to me like a connection and probably not the sensor itself.

the speed sensor is on the trransmission but i agree with him, it sounds like a short or something. Like one of the wires are exposed or arcing from the rain.
