okay now that everything else is fixed water pump timeing belts, the surging stopped (for now)haha. But now its stalling and dying at low rpm's and when sitting at idle or slowing to stop (kinda scary when im trying to cross traffic and have to slow down for on coming) im trying to figure out what it could be. when driving its pretty much fine runs great but it has a loping feel to it like im giving it a little bit of gas then letting off its not hard but it is noticeable. Sorta thinking it may be the egr but not positive. any thoughts?

I would say you have a bad iac. Do you have a cel?

 

i have a cel but haven't got a chance to get it to my dads house to check the code and or codes. IAC how much and how hard? Cleanable?

 

Find out what the cel is and the iac's arent hard to replace and shouldn't be cleaned. If they are they can be damaged.

 

dude i had the same problem with my 1G the suraging and everything....to fix the dieing problem check your butterfly, mine was dirty and sticking so i cleaned it,also i turned up my idle too but my car surges when i first start it up and then it goes away when i drivea little...i still go to find whats causein that. idk if thats when you mine surging.?

 

Check your ignition timing w/ a timing light b/c if thats off you'll get alopeat idle. It happen to me w/ my 1gen.
