Default Are they the same?

I was wondering if crower rods and Pauter rods were the same type of rods made by different comapnies, or if they were two completely different types of rods? Does anyone know?

Depends on the rods you get. Yuo could get beefier rods or whatnot and of course the rod itself will be slightly different possibly have different features or look a little different. But it should all serve teh same purpose and work the same in teh engine. Mostly it's a matter of preference if you're looking to choose one. It's all in the metal they use how much pressure they can take and the features they have for oil delivery and whatnot.

you doing an engine rebuild? if you want to spend a lot of money and have great rods go with crower or Carillo, but if your limited in cash get Eagle for about half the price.

another option is to have the rods you got hardened. this will add alot of str to the rod.
