Default What Is wrong with my car????

Ok, so heres my problem.

I get a check engine code that comes up every once in a while and when I get it checked at Autozone the possible causes say it could be a

vaccuum leak
wiring problem
idle air control valve

But I was wondering since it is the turbo version if it could be the intercooler piping as well. I'm not a big car guy but my brother and all his friends are and they say the pipes look corroded and need to be replaced.

When I drive I can drive fine unless I really punch it in which it sputters like a spark plug is out. I have changed the all the spark plugs and the wires.

I'm just wondering what can I do to fix this and if it is the piping or something else.

I have also cleaned the Idle air control valve hoping it would fix it but it didn't.

The car also idles low or high at times and sometimes when I shift the idle will go so low it'll either turn off completely or just for a brief second.

Any suggestions and help would be great!

I have a 98 gs-t

sounds like a boost leak to me. You can pickup a boost leak tester pretty cheap and test your system. Do a search on here since there have been numerous threads on how to do this. But that would definetly be my guess. Alot of times its the couplings/clamps on the IC pipes. Or the POS stock BOV

I'm w/ TE check for boost leaks, the throttle body shaft seals and fuel injector insulators are 2 very common areas for boost leaks.
