Whats causing my turbo to grind when starting my car?
My oil level is perfect I even double checked it. The oil was just changed 200 miles ago so I know that can't be it. I checked the turbo for shaft play it has VERY little play side to side. Yeah I don't hear any whine when i'm driving normal or under high boost I drive with my windows down too so I'm pretty sure I would hear it. I'll have someone start it again and put my ear by the turbo see if its really coming from it or if in fact its the starter. This p.o.s t25 won't be around much longer anyways. Thanks guys.
In that case then i would say its the starter.
I wasnt saying your oil level was low. What i said was that the oil pressure at idle is zero when the engine is off. That could cause the compressor wheel to rest against the housing when it sits for a while... that would explain why you dont hear it after the engine is started
