Default 2000 gs headlights flashing

I recently purchased a 2000 Eclipse GS, and on the way home with it I noticed the passenger side headlight was not working, when I went to replace the bulb I found that the connector had melted. I replaced both bulb and connector, and afterwards, when I start the car, the bright lights flash for several minutes. If I leave the car running it will eventually stop, but it starts again if I turn the key off and back on.

So my question has several parts: 1) Any clue what is happening? 2) How can I tell if my car has a factory alarm? 3) How can I tell if I can use keyless entry with my car?

Thank you

I think the VIN can tell the stealership if it had the factory alarm/keyless...
Check the relays/fuses for the headlamps. Thats my first guess.
