you know i was gonna post that b/c i heard that coke is stronger and thats why it was better but i figured i would just go w/ what dusty said i mean b/c they'll both work but the coke will prob work better...

that's where i was going with it. does it click at all? does your light come on when you open the door? dont' go buy a 40 dollar battery when it could be some 5 dollar terminal connectors.
40 doller battrery? wtf... didnt know they were so cheap... damn my red optimal islike 175 new =(

Thats cause you got an optima battery. If you just got a regular battery like from Sears It would have been a lot cheeper

lol, that's absolutely rediculous. Please do not try cleaning your battery terminals with any sort of soda, despite it's acidic content. That's just backyard mechanics at it's finest. It sounds like your battery is completly discharged. Try first cleaning the terminals, with metal wire, or sand paper till you remove all corrosion. The reconnect them and tighten till you see all of the terminal being wraped around. try turning it on. If again, nothing happens. take the battery to a auto-store and have it checked for charge. If it's dead, then buy a new one, and that SHOULD fix your problem.

If the car is manual, push start it. When it turns on, after you've cleaned out the terminals, leave it running, so the alternator can charge the battery again. Leave the car on for about 10 minutes. Shut it off, wait 5 and try starting it again, to see if the battery is retaining charge.
