Okay, before i post what im about too, I just want to let you guys know that I love mitsubishi and Im getting a Evo 8 IX

The other day i was coming home from a business trip in my car(BMW 328iS)and I saw a eclipes, maybe about 02 or 03 GT? He had exhaust and i can hear it...Anyways, he lined up with me and wanted to run...out of bordem, i ran him but instantly I pulled on him from 55 mph and when I go up to 115 mph he was about 3-5 cars behind (it was at night so i dont know how far back) we did this 5 times with same results.

Anyways, my question is how fast are they at the 1/4 mile? i tried to look for them on the net but I cant find any time slips for them, and the ones that I do, they are upgraded somehow.

Their great cars, i just cant find any spec on them. Thanks and sorry if i may offend anyone.

Thanks for the information. I'ave always wanted to find out how fast they were. .. Are they any good at autoX? i havent seen one come out so neither there not that great or people in my area just dont race them in autoX.

 

The stock 2001 Eclipse GT with a 5 speed is around 0-60 in 7.1and does the quarter milein about15.3. I found this information on a old Car & Driver or Motor Trend test a while back.Your Beemer has a little stronger engine that the Mitsu, it also uses the Double Vanos to get your maximum torque curve at a lower RPM. Yourcar should break into the high 14's with a 5 speed. BMW is really hard to beat when it comes to horsepower perliter.

 

yeah, im running about 14.5-14.7 depending on how I drive but that was before i had ECU with underdrive pulley and fan delete mod..I dont know how fast it'll be now but im thinking it might be alittle faster? Who knows, BMW are good cars..their not the best, but their alittle over the rest...note: alittle. but if your talking about money=performance.. EVO!!!

 

im guessing they wont make a very good autox car since they are pretty heavy, and they dont come with very good suspension. Maybe with some really good upgrades it might be ok, but just from the size i cant really see them being all that great

I would put a BMW up against and Eclipse anyday.

 

eclipses have more potential then a berlin monkey works imo....
