The car has a new battery (3 months old).

The battery light start coming on a about a week ago. It would come on and then go off.

The battery died. If you hot shot the car it would start but would not run long.

I charged the battery and was able to get it home.

Once I got home I did the ohm meter test but the battery was a little on the low side so I didnt trust the test but I did it anyway and the alternator test failed.

I re-charged the battery and re-did the test. The test showed the volts increase above 12 volts as you expected. So I asked my daughter if the battery light was gone and it wasn't so I shut off the car and shook my head

So I re-started the car and re-did the test and it failed the test.
So it seems that I have an intermettent problem. No mattter what I did, I could not get the ohm meter to go back over 12 volts like it did the one time.

I pulled the alternator (that was fun!) and took it to Advance auto for a test and the test showed it as good.

Any idea what could cause this?
