Picked up a 2002 Galant ES about a week ago and it has the nastiest moldy/mildewy stink when it sits for 30 minutes or more. Once it gets moving it's fine. And the a/c is fine also. Anybody else had this? Any problems with the air conditioning or does the a/c need to be cleaned (out)? Is there a cabin filter like on my 2002 Escape? Help anyone? Thanks.

That is most likely the A/C. From 1999 to mid 2001 they had a cabin filter but now if I remember right they stopped installing them in the Galant because the $65.00 needed to change out the filter. Your dealership should have a spray for you A/C that supposedley stops this. Go to the parts department and ask....
