Default 96 Eclipse RS died leaving the Drive way, HELP!!!

I just replaced the battery in my car and I started it up and as i was pulling out of my driveway my car just died, when i looked under the hood after pushing it back into my driveway I saw that the over the top battery holder broke and was very close to the positive battery post. I guessing that this ground out and cause a relay/s to blow. the only think in the car that still has any power is the after market car alarm/power door locks that came with the car when i purchased it and it is being temper mental and not working properly as well. Any advice other than to start checking all my fuses and relays??

Battery holders arent made of anything metal so it cannot short it... check your fuses and relays throughly, if the problem is not there, use another battery, if still not, check your alternator (ive seen people putting on the eclipse high batteris which short after hitting on the hood....such as the previous owner of mine -_-)

Well the battery holder on my car is metal, its that jay hook and bracket that goes across the top. I did check the hood for any signs of arc if the battery did hit and didn't see any. I know the battery is good cause i popped in in beater ( 93 shadow) and it worked fine. I also noticed that i wasnt gettung any spark if i had the positive terminal on and then touched the negtive to its post. Im going to check all the relay and fuses today at some point between classes and job A and job B
