Default '98 Eclipse cooling fan

My daughter has a '98 Eclipse 2L no turbo and I noticed that the right rad. cooling fan wasn't running while the left one was. Does anyone know if the fans are electrically in parallel, or is each fan controlled from a different temp. switch? I found no voltage on the connector- I noticed 4 wires on the right motor connector and 2 on the left connector- what are the extra 2 leads for on the right connector?

Both fans should come on with the a/c on. If the a/c is off the other fan should come on if the engine is near overheating. And they also may have a high and low speed controled by the ecm.

Thank you for the response. Good idea- I will turn the a.c. on and see if both fans kick in.
