I have never had any problems with my car b4 today.. my romate took out my car last night and got stuck.. the car overheated on him and switched off.. I went out o meet him to bring out some water for the radiator.. after I put the water in, the car started about 15 mins later.. I drove home switched off the car and let it sit overnight.. this morning I noticed a rubber hose leading from the radiator valve to the engine had a rip in it and I realised this was causing the radiator to lose fluid.. I replaced teh hose and refilled the coolant.. the car still will not start.. it sounds like it wants to turn over but it just won't.. please help if you can.

Maybe your roommate fried the solenoid while trying to start it over and over...Just a wild guess...Could be something electrical if he got water in some place where it wasn't supposed to go while being stuck or if the radiator fluid or water was spraying all over the place from the ripped hose..If the "check engine" light is possibly on the take it somewhere and have a computer scan done to it.
