Default Cooling fan motor is toast

Mitsu Parts Dept quoted $175 and the then service dept quoted $320 installed on the following.

Need a price for a used cooling fan motor left side (a/c condenser) for a 2003 Mitsubishi Outlander XLS 2.4L. Part number MR993932 (TYC Generi 621820) cross refers to MR464708 (Lancer ($54)) I think.

Not sure if a universal replacement can be adapted? ($20 on Amazon). The TYC Generi 630450 (Jeep Cherokee) looks like a dead ringer.($56 new).

There was a recall on the controller unit so I had them replace it but they said that it was not responsible for burning out the fan motor (I have my doubts).

The A/C overheats in about 20 minutes without that fan, so I need to get it working b/4 my wife kills me. Thanks for any tips you may have.

Yes there was a recall and I had mine replaced. Unfortunately that did not fix my problem. I narrowed down the part number of the fan motor that was failing and ordered it through the dealer. Saved more than $125 that way because they want to sell the entire double fan unit to you. Now the fans worked great, but the A/C issues were too complicated. Every shop wanted over $1500 no garrentees. So I traded the car in since it had an engine issue and a suspension issue also. It is ashame, I lived my Outlander...
