Default Does this make any sense? *timing belt question*

A week ago I replaced the valve cover gasket and I noticed that the timing belt had a ton of play in it, despite the fact that it was replaced about 15k ago. I got everything back together, and just checked the belt again today and its nice and perfectly tight. Does this make sense?

that is just how it goes... mine have been the same way. if it sits for a little while the belt is loose... or loose(er) than when i have just run it for a second. it will be tighter after you start it up.

Yeah mine does that too as long as you used an oem belt and tensioner you'll be fine.

you have a hydraulic tensioner.
if the system is shut off with a load placed on it, it will slowly compress. As soon as the car is started, the load shifts and the tensioner extends.
dont worry about it.
